Job summary

Holtec is seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer to perform detailed piping stress analyses, ensuring the integrity, safety, and compliance of piping systems. You will develop design bases, evaluate loads including seismic effects, and recommend optimal supports and routing.

With 5+ years in piping stress analysis and proficiency in AutoPIPE or CAESAR II, you will collaborate with layout, materials, and structural teams to deliver robust designs, supported by thorough reports and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in piping stress analysis.
• Proficient in AutoPIPE or CAESAR II.
• Knowledge of ASME NB, NCD, B31.1 and B31.3 codes; static/dynamic analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform piping stress analysis (static and dynamic) using AutoPIPE or CAESAR II.
• Develop stress design basis, critical line lists, and analysis procedures.
• Evaluate thermal expansion, sustained loads, occasional loads, and seismic effects.
• Provide design recommendations including supports and routing optimization.
• Analyze high piping loads on equipment nozzles; ensure code compliance.
• Select spring hangers to handle expansion and loads.
• Generate and review stress reports, calculations, and documentation.
• Coordinate with layout, materials, and structural teams.
• Support 3D modeling, clash detection, routing optimization.
• Assist construction teams by resolving field stress issues.
