Job summary

Norse Contracts is seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join a year‑long project in Potters Bar, working Saturdays. The role requires reading drawings and installing below‑ground drainage and service pipework to specified levels, with excavation, bedding, backfill, and jointing performed to standard.

You will also construct manholes and perform testing as required. Candidates should have proven pipe laying experience on similar civils/groundworks projects and be capable of working from

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pipe Layer on civils/groundworks projects.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to levels.

Responsibilities

• Install below-ground drainage and service pipework (foul, surface water, water mains, ducting).
• Read drawings to install pipework to correct lines, levels and falls.
• Excavate and prepare trenches to required depth and specification.
• Lay pipe bedding material and backfill in line with specification.
• Joint and connect pipework using appropriate methods for pipe material.
• Construct manholes, chambers and gullies.
• Carry out pressure/leak testing and CCTV survey prep where required.
• Ensure excavations are safely supported and compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Work with setting out engineer to confirm levels and positions.
• Maintain accurate records of completed works.
