Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is recruiting a Junior Estimator for a Nottingham-based geotechnical and piling contractor. The role focuses on developing estimating and commercial project delivery skills, with exposure to specialist piling and geotechnical projects.

The ideal candidate has a background in piling, geotechnical or civil engineering and is eager to grow into an estimator with training and progression opportunities within a growing contractor.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within piling, geotechnical or civil engineering
• Understanding of construction costs, materials and site operations
• Good attention to detail
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Full UK driving licence desirable
• Happy to travel

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing tenders and project estimates
• Review drawings, specifications and project requirements
• Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Prepare cost breakdowns and pricing
• Support the preparation of tender submissions
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and project teams
• Maintain accurate estimating and tender records
• Assist with handovers from estimating to the delivery team
