Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD are seeking an Estimator for a piling and geotechnical contractor in Nottinghamshire. You will prepare tender submissions and build rates for labour, plant and materials, liaising with clients to secure bids.

The role suits someone with several years' estimating experience in piling or ground engineering, offering £45,000-£50,000 plus a company car or car allowance, 25 days’ holiday and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in piling or geotechnical/earthworks estimating.
• Ideally 4+ years in the industry; flexible consideration.
• Understanding of construction rates, plant, labour and materials.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender information.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills; able to compile tender submissions.
• Full UK driving license.
• Willingness to commute within Nottinghamshire area.

Responsibilities

• Review tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and documentation.
• Prepare estimates and tender submissions for piling, geotechnical, earthworks and related packages.
• Build up rates for labour, plant, materials and subcontract packages.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations.
• Prepare tender documentation and respond to technical/commercial queries.
• Attend client meetings, including meetings in London.
• Work with operations and commercial teams to reflect realistic delivery methods and costs.
• Assist with tender handovers after successful project awards.
• Develop technical and commercial knowledge with potential to progress in estimating.
