Job summary

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking Experienced Band 5 Senior Staff Nurses to join our paediatric wards. The role is permanent, 37.5 hours per week, with a mix of long days, nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• NMC registration as a pediatric nurse or eligibility for the child branch
• Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in ICU/A&E/Paediatric ward (NHS or equivalent) within last two years
• Evidence of ongoing professional development linked to demonstrable competencies
• Assessor or practice supervisor qualification/experience

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest standard of nursing care for the children, young people and families.
• Plan, assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care for individual children and supervise other staff.
• Ensure a welcoming, caring and safe environment for children, young people and families.
• Act as advocate for the child and family, guiding them to appropriate support services.
• Supervise ward team and communicate changes in patient condition; ensure treatments are carried out as prescribed.
