Hazel Ward PICU within Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a dedicated Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit with 10 beds for working-age men across the Hampshire area. We are an award-winning team focused on caring for service users with acute mental illness and high-risk behaviours in the least restrictive way.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with NMC registration and ongoing professional development.
• Experience in mental health settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of a ward from time to time as allocated.
• Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
• Exercise leadership within the service by ensuring sound organisation, good communication and relationships within the nursing team under the guidance and supervision of the Ward Manager and Nurse Team Leader.
• Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any specific clinical activity as appropriate.
• Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any professional issues as necessary.
• Report to, or assist/advise the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any matters of complaint.
