Bidfood UK is hiring a PI Operative to ensure stock accuracy at the Burnham depot. You’ll run a rolling 20-day PI cycle, perform regular stock counts, check best-before dates, inspect stock, and maintain WMS records.

This full-time role supports the Stock Manager and requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and IT skills (Excel). You’ll work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within stock control, inventory management, warehousing or a similar role.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Windows applications.
  • A flexible and positive approach to work.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting regular stock counts and investigations.
  • Checking best-before dates and monitoring date-sensitive products.
  • Inspecting stock condition within pick and bulk storage locations.
  • Maintaining accurate records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies.
  • Managing Hub & Spoke and Inter-Branch Transfer (IBT) discrepancies.
  • Processing credits and invoicing where required.
  • Liaising with suppliers, depots and internal departments to resolve stock-related queries.
  • Managing damaged stock and customer returns.
  • Supporting quarantine stock processes.
  • Providing support to the Stock Manager and wider stock team.

Are you highly organized, detail-focused and passionate about stock accuracy?

We're looking for a PI Operative to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with data and ensuring stock is managed accurately within a busy warehouse environment.

You'll play a key role in maintaining stock integrity across the depot, helping to ensure products are in the right place, at the right time and available for our customers.

What you’ll be doing

As a PI Operative, you'll be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of stock held within the depot by completing a rolling 20-day perpetual inventory (PI) cycle and supporting the day-to-day management of warehouse stock.

Your responsibilities will include:

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within stock control, inventory management, warehousing or a similar role.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Windows applications.
  • A flexible and positive approach to work.

It would be advantageous, but not essential, if you have:

  • Forklift truck experience or certification.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
