Job summary

The Highfield Hospital in Rochdale, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant to join the Physiotherapy department on a bank basis.

This role is ad hoc, covering busy periods and annual leave, with one Saturday morning per month on a weekend rota; weekend enhancements apply. You will assist with physiotherapy interventions, support patients, and work with the team to provide high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a healthcare, care, or rehabilitation setting.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A caring, patient-focused approach and commitment to promoting independence.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of physiotherapy interventions as directed by a registered Physiotherapist.
• Support patients with prescribed exercises, mobility practice, and therapeutic activities in a safe and compassionate manner.
• Provide reassurance and motivation to patients during therapy, helping build confidence and engagement.
• Work collaboratively with physiotherapists and other team members to deliver a high-quality service.
• Follow all relevant health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding procedures.
• Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and learning opportunities provided by the department.

Salary: Up to £13.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Physiotherapy Assistant to join their team of staff in thePhysiotherapy department.

This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis. You will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff during times of annual leave or absence.

You will also be expected to work one Saturday morning a month as part of our weekend rota, and on an ad hoc basis during the week as required. An enhancement is paid for weekend work.
