Qualifications

Job Description:

AFC Wimbledon Women are looking to recruit a dedicated, self-motivated, and knowledgeable individual to join their Medical department. The role involves working with elite female footballers in Tier 3 women’s football, providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation services.

The successful candidate will work with the 1st team and pathway players, covering physiotherapy and rehabilitation needs. The role requires flexibility to work weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays. Opportunities for internal CPD and staying current with literature are provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
• Assess injured players clinically before games
• Maintain detailed injury and treatment records
• Communicate regularly with coaches, S&C team, and players regarding injuries
• Participate in in-house CPD sessions
• Support junior therapists in the women’s pathway
• Ensure compliance with club policies, including health and safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality

Qualifications and Requirements:

• BSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
• HCPC/BASRaT/SST registration
• In-date EMFA qualification (and commitment to re-accreditation)
• Willingness to work with high-level athletes on injury management and rehab
• Medical insurance suitable for treating semi-professional women’s footballers
• Ability to participate in football at a high level
• MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
