Job Description:

AFC Wimbledon Women are looking to recruit a dedicated, self-motivated, and knowledgeable individual to join the medical department as a Chartered Physiotherapist, Sports Therapist, or Sports Rehabilitator. The role involves working within a Tier 3 women’s football club, providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation services to elite female footballers, including the 1st team and pathway players.

The successful candidate will work flexible hours, including weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays. Opportunities for internal CPD and staying current with literature and scope of practice are provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
• Assess injured players clinically before games
• Maintain detailed injury and treatment records
• Communicate regularly with coaches, strength and conditioning team, and players regarding injuries and availability
• Participate in in-house CPD sessions
• Support junior therapists within the women’s pathway
• Ensure compliance with club policies including health and safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality

Qualifications and requirements:

• BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
• HCPC/BASRaT/SST registration
• In-date EMFA qualification and commitment to reaccreditation
• Willingness to work with high-level athletes, including injury management and rehabilitation planning
• Medical insurance suitable for treating semi-professional women’s footballers
• The ability to play or participate in football at a high level
• MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation (preferred)
