Job Description:

AFC Wimbledon Women are seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable individual eager to work in women’s football at Tier 3, supporting elite female athletes.

The role is for a Chartered Physiotherapist, Sports Therapist, or Sports Rehabilitator to join the Medical department. The Medical Therapist will provide physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for the team, including 1st team and pathway players.

The candidate must be flexible to work various hours, including weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays. This position offers opportunities for internal CPD, staying current with literature, and enhancing practical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
• Assess injured players clinically before games
• Maintain detailed injury and treatment records, uploading them to our platform
• Communicate regularly with coaches, S&C team, and players about injuries and availability
• Participate in in-house CPD sessions
• Support junior therapists within the women’s pathway
• Ensure compliance with club policies, including health & safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality
• Hold a BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
• Be HCPC/BASRaT/SST registered
• Maintain in-date EMFAif qualification and commit to annual reaccreditation
• Willingness to work with high-level athletes, managing injuries and rehabilitation
• Hold suitable medical insurance for treating semi-professional women’s footballers
• Ability to participate in football at a high level
• Possess MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
