Job summary

Splendid Hospitality Group seeks a Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy department at Splendid Healthcare Head Office. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based assessment and treatment to residents, supporting mobility, rehabilitation and pain management.

You will work 24 hours per week (3 days) with HCPC registration mandatory, collaborating with nursing, occupational therapy and other professionals to maintain clinical governance and ensure person-centred care across the home.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for residents and develop individualised treatment plans.
• Deliver rehabilitation and mobility programmes to support functional recovery.
• Contribute to falls prevention and risk management within the home.
• Assess and manage pain using physiotherapy interventions in collaboration with the care team.
• Provide training on moving & handling and equipment to care staff.
• Collaborate with MDT members to deliver coordinated, person-centred care.
• Document care plans, risks and physiotherapy recommendations clearly.

Reporting to the Head of Nursing or senior Physiotherapist, the Physiotherapist is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy assessment and treatment to residents, supporting their physical function, independence, rehabilitation, pain management and quality of life. The role works closely with the nursing team, care staff, occupational therapists and visiting health professionals to provide a joined-up approach to residents’ physical health and mobility needs. The Physiotherapist will contribute to the home’s clinical governance, risk management and staff education programme in relation to moving & handling, falls prevention and functional rehabilitation.

Current HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist is essential.

This is a part time role - working 3 days a week. Total hours will be 24 hours a week.

What You Will Do In This Splendid Role

Every day is different, but you'll play an important role in supporting residents to live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.

• Physiotherapy assessment and treatment: carry out comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for residents, develop and implement individualised treatment plans, and evaluate outcomes regularly in line with professional standards and evidence-based practice. This includes hydrotherapy assessment and treatment.
• Rehabilitation and mobility support: deliver targeted rehabilitation programmes to support residents’ functional recovery, maintain independence, manage long-term conditions and improve or maintain quality of life.
• Falls prevention and risk management: contribute to the home’s falls prevention programme; assess falls risk, recommend environmental and equipment adaptations, and deliver targeted interventions to reduce falls and associated harm.
• Pain assessment and management: assess and manage musculoskeletal and other pain conditions, using physiotherapy interventions and working with the nursing team to ensure a holistic approach to pain relief.
• Moving & handling and equipment: provide specialist advice, training and competency support to the care team on moving & handling techniques, equipment selection and postural management; contribute to manual handling risk assessments.
• MDT working and professional liaison: work collaboratively with nursing, care, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, GPs and other professionals to deliver coordinated, person-centred care; attend and contribute to MDT reviews and care plan meetings.
• Care planning contribution: provide physiotherapy input to resident care plans and risk assessments; ensure physiotherapy goals and recommendations are clearly documented and communicated to the care team.
• Staff education and training: provide training, guidance and in-practice support to care staff on relevant topics including mobility, exercise programmes, positioning and falls prevention.
• Clinical documentation and governance: maintain accurate, timely and professional clinical records in line with HCPC standards and organisational requirements; contribute to clinical audit and quality improvement activity.
• Safeguarding: recognise and elevate safeguarding concerns promptly and in line with the home’s procedures; maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
• Digital and AI Literacy (approved use only): use clinical and care management systems confidently. Where permitted, use approved AI tools only for non-confidential clinical support tasks (e.g. drafting generic exercise information, non-identifiable documentation). Never input resident-identifiable or confidential information into AI tools.
