Eastbourne College is seeking an experienced laboratory technician to support the physics curriculum and coordinate resources in their state-of-the-art science centre. The successful candidate will have a strong science background and knowledge of basic electronics, providing essential assistance to enhance practical work in the department.
Eastbourne College is seeking an experienced laboratory technician to coordinate the use of resources and facilities and provide assistance and advice to meet the practical needs of the physics curriculum.
The College’s state-of-the-art science centre provides all pupils with access to cutting-edge technology. All four teaching laboratories on the physics floor are fully equipped with interactive whiteboards, data-logging facilities, and the latest teaching aids. The computer network supports each laboratory as well as the computer suite.
There is a strong emphasis on practical work in the department, encouraging pupils to utilize our extensive apparatus to enhance their experiments during investigations.
The successful candidate will have a strong science background, ideally with knowledge of basic electronics and electricity, including how to use a multi-meter, and be capable of lifting heavy classroom equipment occasionally.
Normal working hours are 10 hours per week, during term time only.
Fixed-term contract until 31 August 2026.
