We are looking for a Physician who is passionate and innovative to join us in our Translational Medicine team based in Slough UK .

About the role

To provide clinical / medical leadership of Immunology and programmes including devising and delivering innovative feasible and efficient clinical plans to proof of concept.

The role spans Immunology programs in different therapeutic areas (e.g. Dermatology Rheumatology GI) from target identification through to clinical proof of concept (PoC) and the transition point to late phase development.

Reporting to the Head Of the respective therapeutic area in Translational Medicine

What youll do
  • The Study Physician is accountable for design and protocol authoring medical input to study operational set-up procedures and regulatory interactions medical oversight / monitoring of studies results interpretation and presentation.
  • Providing clinical leadership at all stages of TM project progression from target selection through to PoC. Following candidate selection and through early clinical development this may be via the role of Clinical Sub team Lead (CSTL) or Programme Physician.
  • Work in partnership with other key lines (e.g. Research Data Science Commercial Regulatory) to ensure all clinical aspects of the development plan are of high quality. This includes devising a feasible efficient and innovative clinical plan with clear decision points / criteria to inform project progression and enable seamless transition post-PoC to late phase development.
  • Provide TM clinical input to scientific advisory boards and dependant on seniority provide TM clinical input to project or therapeutic are-related scientific advisory boards.
  • Represent TM at internal strategic bodies and dependant on seniority governance bodies.
  • Provide input to overall TM strategy including alignment with TAs other Patient Value Units and Practices.
  • Provide TM clinical input to licencing opportunities as required.
  • Establish and leverage KOL network to establish high value research collaborations and inform TM and Therapeutic area strategy.

Interested For this role were looking for the following education experience and skills.

  • Medical Doctor or MBBS or equivalent with relevant post registration experience in relevant speciality (e.g. Clinical Immunology Dermatology GI Rheumatology) and either PhD / MD / Masters with significant industry experience in Translational Medicine (e.g. Study Physician Principal Investigator).
  • Significant experience in academia or industry setting with conduct of clinical research trials. Ideally industry experience will include early clinical development / Translational medicine.
  • Excellent medical and scientific knowledge of Immune driven diseases e.g. GI Rheumatology Clinical Immunology Dermatology and the principles and application of Translational Medicine to drug development.
  • Strong drive to identify and apply innovative to early drug development.
  • Track record of publications related to immune-mechanisms and immune-driven disease.
