Job summary

The Elms Surgery in Central Watford seeks an experienced Physician Associate to join our clinical team on a six-month fixed-term maternity cover. You will independently manage acute and routine presentations within the defined scope, collaborating with supervising GPs and contributing to patient care decisions.

A focus on chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes, COPD, hypertension and dementia is required, with involvement in audits and practice development alongside our multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Qualified Physician Associate with Primary Care experience.
• Experience managing chronic diseases in a general practice setting.
• Ability to work under GP supervision on complex cases.
• Experience with EMIS or similar GP IT systems.
• Engages in audits and quality improvement activities.

  We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physician Associate to become part of our clinical team for a initial fixed term of six months to cover maternity with potential to extend. This role is ideally suited to a PA with strong primary care experience, who is confident in assessing and managing undifferentiated presentations. The successful candidate will also have a particular interest and expertise in chronic disease management, working collaboratively under appropriate GP supervision.
  The Elms Surgery is a forward-thinking, well-established GP practice caring for approximately 9000 patients. We have a strong multidisciplinary team including experienced 3 GPs, 5 Physician Associates, a Clinical Pharmacist, first contact physiotherapist, and social prescriber. Clinicians are supported by an efficient and friendly Admin & Reception team.
