Description

MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME, is recruiting for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) with 2-4 years of outpatient surgical experience to work in the Adult Cardiovascular Surgery service. This is a full-time day-shift position with no weekends, nights, or holidays. You will join a comprehensive Cardiac Surgery program consisting of 7 Cardiac Surgeons and 31 PAs/ACNPs, offering an exciting environment with a broad scope of practice. The APP team works with a high level of autonomy, supported by the Cardiac Surgeons and Cardiovascular Critical Care Intensivists, to provide top-tier care. Maine Medical Center's cardiac surgery program is at the forefront of minimally invasive valve platforms like TAVR and advanced heart failure treatments, including ECMO and VADs.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • 3-5 years of critical care experience, preferably in an outpatient Cardiac Surgery setting.
  • Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively triage, organize, and prioritize.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
