The surgical position involves rotating shifts, primarily days.
MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME, is recruiting a Physician Assistant (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) with 3+ years of surgical experience to join the Adult Cardiovascular Surgery service. This is a full-time, rotating position that includes call and weekend duties. The role is mainly operative but also requires proficiency in ICU and step-down unit care, with no outpatient responsibilities. You will join a comprehensive Cardiac Surgery program comprising 7 Cardiac Surgeons and 32 PAs/ACNPs. This position offers the opportunity to work in an innovative environment with a broad scope of practice. The APP team operates with a high degree of autonomy, supported by Cardiac Surgeons and Cardiovascular Critical Care Intensivists, delivering high-quality care in a leading-edge program. Maine Medical Center's cardiac surgery program is at the forefront of minimally invasive valve platforms, such as TAVR and MIS valve procedures, as well as advanced heart failure treatments including ECMO and VADs.
