Aspire People is recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the B8 area of Birmingham. The role focuses on supporting phonics, early reading, and literacy across EYFS and Key Stage 1.

You will deliver phonics interventions, work with teachers to plan activities, monitor progress, and build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents. Immediate start available and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

Level 3 Phonics Teaching Assistant - B8 Area

Location: B8
Hours: Full-Time, 5 Days Per Week
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are currently recruiting for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the B8 area. This role will have a strong focus on supporting children with phonics, early reading, and literacy development across EYFS and Key Stage 1.

The Role:

• Deliver phonics interventions and small group support using the school's phonics scheme.
• Support pupils in developing early reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Work closely with class teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities.
• Provide targeted support for children who need additional help with phonics and literacy.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

Requirements:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous experience supporting phonics in a primary school setting
• Good understanding of early literacy and reading development
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
