Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the B8 area of Birmingham. The role focuses on supporting phonics, early reading, and literacy across EYFS and Key Stage 1.

You will deliver phonics interventions, work with teachers to plan activities, monitor progress, and build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents. Immediate start available and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting phonics in a primary school.
• Strong understanding of early literacy and reading development.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver phonics interventions and small-group support using the school's phonics scheme.
• Support pupils in developing early reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Plan and deliver engaging learning activities with class teachers.
• Provide targeted support for children needing help with phonics and literacy.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
