Job summary

Aspire People Limited is seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in North London. You will support teachers, assist pupils with learning, and contribute to their wellbeing in class and during small-group interventions.

You should hold a Level 3 TA qualification, have experience with children, understand the primary curriculum, and be patient, reliable and able to work as part of a team while safeguarding pupils.

Qualifications

  • Must have Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in a primary school setting.
  • Good understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Confidence supporting phonics, reading, writing and maths.
  • Patient, caring and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding safeguarding and child protection.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher with daily teaching and learning activities.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND where appropriate.
  • Lead structured interventions such as phonics, reading, writing or maths.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
  • Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Support pupils during break and lunch and promote a safe learning environment.

Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Location: North London

Contract: Full-time, term-time only

Start Date: September 2026

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive primary school in North London.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing. You will provide support both within the classroom and through small-group and individual interventions.

The role will include:
  • Supporting the class teacher with daily teaching and learning activities.
  • Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND where appropriate.
