The Welby Group is recruiting an experienced Phlebotomist to join New Coningsby Surgery on a part-time basis to provide maternity cover. The role involves taking blood samples from patients, labelling samples accurately and working 2 days per week (Mon, Tue) 08:00–13:00, within a supportive primary care team.
We seek someone confident performing phlebotomy with good Health & Safety and Infection Prevention knowledge, and excellent patient-facing communication.

Fantastic! We are recruiting for an experienced Phlebotomist to join New Coningsby Surgery on a part-time basis to provide maternity cover.
This is a fixed-term maternity cover position, working 2 days per week on Mondays and Tuesdays, 08:00–13:00.
As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for taking blood samples from patients safely and correctly, ensuring samples are labelled accurately and stored appropriately so they can be processed without the need to recall patients.
You will be caring and approachable, with the ability to put patients at ease, particularly those who may feel anxious about having blood taken. You will work closely with the wider practice team to provide a high-quality, patient-centred service.
Previous experience working in a phlebotomy service
Able to perform phlebotomy procedures confidently and without direct supervision
Good understanding of Health & Safety and Infection Prevention and Control procedures
Accurate and methodical, with good attention to detail
Able to complete associated administration, record keeping and sample labelling
Good communication and patient-facing skills
Caring and compassionate approach to patient care
IT literate
