Job summary

Salford Medical Centre is seeking a friendly Healthcare Assistant to support our nursing team. You will obtain consent, perform venepuncture, and take blood pressures, height and weight readings as required.

You will help maintain the diary to ensure all due blood tests are completed, promote a good relationship with patients, and work across our main site and The Quays Practice branch, with hours 8am–6:30pm.

Qualifications

• Experience in primary care is advantageous but is not required.
• Willingness to work across two sites and hours 8am–6:30pm.
• Familiarity with EMIS or similar systems is a plus.

• Ensure all due blood tests are completed by updating the diary.

Job description

Obtaining consent & performing venepuncture. To take Blood pressures, height & weight readings (as required) To check the diary function to ensure all due blood tests are completed. Promote a good relationship with our patients. Working with our nursing team and seeking guidance where necesary.

Previous or current experience working within primary care in a GP practice will be an advantage but is not necessary.

Salford Medical Centre is a GP practice with over 16,000 patients. We also have a branch practice: The Quays Practice which currently operates out of Ordsall Health Centre (M5 3PH), Salford Medical Centre is one of 10 practices that make up the Salford South East Primary Care Network.We are a long standing high achieving practice and at our last assessment were rated as Good by the CQC. We work using the EMIS clinical system as well as using Accurx, Docman10, Ardens & Outlook. Our practice has seen a lot of change in the last 5 years due to the opening of our branch site. We have grown from being under 4000 patients to over 16,000 patients. The patient demographic at each of our sites is very different which provides variety in speaking to people from all walks of life as well as a different working environment and with different members of the team. Due to our practice expending our clinical & administration teams have grown and diversified. Our team is a mix of ages and backgrounds giving a wealth of knowledge & support for any new starters. Our clinical team consists of: 1 GP Partner, 11 Salaried GP's, 1 ANP, 2 Practice nurses, 2 HCA's, as well as access to our PCN Pharmacists. Our clinical, nursing & administrative teams all work harmoniously together as they are all patient focused and driven towards providing the best care for our patients. We also continuously review our systems & processes in order to better meet our patients needs.

• You must be able to work between the hours of 8am - 6:30pm
• You must be able to work at BOTH sites.
• We may require flexibility to cover sickness / annual leave (sometimes at short notice)
