Job summary

Corner Place Surgery in Paignton is seeking a caring Phlebotomist to take blood samples and assist doctors and nurses. You will perform INR near-patient testing, monitor results and follow Practice protocols, with training provided if required.

You'll help maintain accurate computer records, keep the treatment room clean, and participate in meetings. The Practice, with 8 Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, and a skilled nursing team, prides itself on high‑quality patient care and

• Phlebotomist with caring nature and proactive professional manner.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a strong team.
• Flexibility to cover holidays and sickness as required.

Responsibilities

• Take blood samples as required by doctors or nurses.
• Perform INR near-patient testing and monitoring.
• Maintain accurate computer records and patient data.
• Process and record specimens for courier collection.
• Keep the Treatment Room clean and tidy per Infection Control standards.
• Participate in clinical and practice meetings.
• Provide cover for holidays and sickness when needed.

Job description

• Working to Practice protocols, to take blood samples from patients as required by doctors or nurses. This will include INR near-patient testing and monitoring.
• Appropriate training will be provided if required.
• To undertake additional healthcare related duties as requested, such as blood pressure monitoring, according to protocols provided and completion of appropriate training. To maintain accurate computer records. To actively participate in clinical and practice meetings. To keep the Treatment Room in a clean and tidy state in accordance with the Practice Infection Control standards. To process and record specimens for courier collection. To undertake other duties as and when required
• Please note that there is a requirement to be flexible and help to provide cover for holidays and sickness.
