Job summary

Faversham Medical Group is seeking a Phlebotomist (Care Coordinator) to perform venepuncture on GP referrals and support PCN activity. You will work under the Nurse Lead within established guidelines to collect samples, ensure patient comfort, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities include sample handling, labelling, timely dispatch, and collaboration with administrative teams. This role emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and adherence to local policies.

Qualifications

• Venepuncture and sample collection techniques.
• Ability to work under supervision of clinical leads.
• Compliance with infection control and patient safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions.
• Confirm patient consent for blood collection and ensure patient comfort.
• Collect blood samples as referred by GP and label with patient details.
• Dispatch samples to laboratories in a timely fashion.
• Record collection in patient records per group procedures.
• Report anomalies to a senior member of staff.
• Notify GP/Nurse of significant patient issues.
• Perform blood pressure recording and urine tests as required.
• Assist administrative team and maintain stock of clinical supplies.
