Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Phlebotomist to join our friendly and supportive team.

Are you excellent at communication, have good hand-eye coordination, flexibility, and a patient-focused approach? Basic computer skills are also required.

This demanding physical role involves standing, bending, walking, and pushing phlebotomy trolleys during shifts.

As the role includes community and hospital work, access to a car or alternative transport is essential.

Shifts cover early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays on a rota basis.

Main duties

• Manage contingencies during blood collection and seek assistance when needed.
• Perform routine blood specimen collections with minimal supervision.
• Accurately record patient/donor information during sample collection.
• Assemble and dispose of equipment appropriately.
• Perform manual urine analysis before blood tests (e.g., Glucose/Lactose Tolerance Tests).
• Select suitable sites and equipment for blood collection using personal judgment.
• Obtain blood samples ensuring minimal discomfort.
