Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Warehouse Operative to support regional pharmaceutical supply, receipting, and distribution for PHU. The role ensures GDP compliance and maintains licencing alongside handling stock and coordinating deliveries.

You will work within a busy team at the RDPC, with training available and responsibilities including stock control, order picking, and facilitating patient care through reliable supply chains.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Mathematics or equivalent
• Willingness to undertake in-house and Trust training essential for the post

Responsibilities

• Provide support to deliver the supply of pharmaceuticals to Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust (PHU) and carry out the receipt and distribution of wholesaling activities from the Regional Drug Purchasing Centre (RDPC) to external customers.
• Help maintain GDP standards to keep the wholesaler dealer licence and reputation with customers.
• Ensure compliance with Home Office requirements to maintain the department's Controlled Drug licence.
• Receipting of pharmaceutical stock and checking against delivery notes; create picking lists from ward orders using bar code readers.
