Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust seeks a Pharmacy Warehouse Operative to support the Regional Drug Purchasing Centre, ensuring timely supply of pharmaceuticals to PHU and external customers. You will handle receipt and distribution, maintain GDP compliance, and support the department's controlled drug licence.

You will work as part of the RDPC team processing orders, stock checks, and stock rotation, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and responsive service to wards and external partners.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
• Willingness to undertake in-house and Trust training essential for the post.
• Fork-lift driving licence – training provided.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking day-to-day activities to meet deadlines and follow GDP and health and safety legislation.
• Receiving and responding to calls/emails from PHU wards/departments and external hospitals on medication supplies and stock queries.
• Deliver training to staff rotating from PHU in student technician and pre-registration pharmacist roles.
• Maintain quality management systems and complete documentation to meet GDP standards and MHRA inspections.
