Job summary

A Pharmacy Technician Apprentice role with Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Milton Keynes offers hands-on experience within a busy pharmacy team. Training combines practical work with blended learning, guiding you toward a nationally recognised qualification.

You will work toward Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship, gain earnings while you learn, and may progress to full‑time employment on successful completion with eligibility to register with the GPhC.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English (A-C/4-9) or equivalent.
• Willingness to complete Maths and English tests if needed.
• Interest in pharmacy and healthcare.
• Good communication and customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing, ordering, receiving and supplying medicines safely.
• Provide patient advice on prescriptions and OTC medicines.
• Support day-to-day pharmacy operations including stock control.
• Supervise and support pharmacy staff as you progress.
• Assist with training and mentoring new staff.
• Maintain high standards through audits and feedback.
• Engage in the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship training.
• Upon completion, eligible to register with the GPhC.

Job description

About the role:

As a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will support the safe, effective and lawful supply of medicines while working closely with pharmacists and the wider healthcare team. We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy pharmacy team. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress within pharmacy and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Key responsibilities

• Managing, ordering, receiving and supplying medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately
• Providing person‑centred advice to patients on prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate
• Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, including business processes, stock control and clinical governance
• Supervising and supporting pharmacy support staff as you progress in the role
• Assisting with training and mentoring new members of staff
• Maintaining high standards through auditing, evaluating services and responding to feedback
• Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A‑level)
• On successful completion, you will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• Training delivered through a blended learning approach alongside your job

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.
