Job summary

The Ilford-based Pharmacy Technician Apprentice role supports the safe and lawful supply of medicines while working with pharmacists and the wider healthcare team.

This apprenticeship offers blended learning, Level 3 qualification equivalent to A-level, and potential for full-time employment on completion; applicants must have a pharmacy assistant/ dispenser qualification.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English preferable, part of the course if not present.
• For applicants without Maths/English Level 2, tests will determine course suitability.
• Must have pharmacy assistant/ dispenser qualification.

Responsibilities

• Managing, ordering, receiving and supplying medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately
• Providing person-centred advice to patients on prescription and over-the-counter medicines
• Supporting day-to-day running of the pharmacy including stock control and governance
• Supervising and supporting staff as you progress
• Assisting with training and mentoring new members of staff
• Maintaining high standards through auditing and responding to feedback

Brief Description

IG3 9UB We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy pharmacy team. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress within pharmacy and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician. Must have pharmacy assistant/ dispenser qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Skills Required

• A keen interest in pharmacy and healthcare.
• Previous experience in the pharmacy industry or similar.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• The willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge.

We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy pharmacy team. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing, ordering, receiving and supplying medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately
• Providing person‑centred advice to patients on prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate
• Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, including business processes, stock control and clinical governance
• Supervising and supporting pharmacy support staff as you progress in the role
• Assisting with training and mentoring new members of staff
• Maintaining high standards through auditing, evaluating services and responding to feedback

Apprenticeship & qualification:

• Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A‑level)
• On successful completion, you will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• Training delivered through a blended learning approach alongside your job
