Job summary

Government of Jersey is seeking a pharmacy specialist pharmacy technician to improve patient outcomes through safe medicines use in a hospital setting. You will work with clinical pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality medicines optimisation across Health Care Jersey.

You will support patients throughout their hospital journey by reconciling medicines on admission and discharge, assessing patients' own medicines, dispensing, accuracy checking, and providing medicines

Job description

Our pharmacy specialist pharmacy technician plays a vital role in improving patient outcomes through the safe and effective use of medicines. Working closely with clinical pharmacists and multidisciplinary ward teams, you will help deliver a high quality medicines optimisation service across Health Care Jersey.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will support patients throughout their hospital journey by undertaking medicines reconciliation on admission and discharge, assessing patients' own medicines, dispensing and accuracy checking medication, providing medicines counselling, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless, patient centred care.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to service development, support quality improvement initiatives, and mentor pharmacy technicians undertaking medicines optimisation and accuracy checking accreditations.
