Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Pharmacy Technician in Lincolnshire to support GP practices within the Primary Care Network (PCN). This position is flexible for part or full-time work and will be based between Woodhall Spa New Surgery and New Coningsby Surgery. We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Pharmacy Technician with at least 2 years of experience to join our PCN pharmacist team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting clinical pharmacists and the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties include:

  • Providing expertise in medicines management, including face-to-face medication reviews and management of long-term conditions.
  • Managing medication on transfer of care, ensuring safe prescribing systems.
  • Handling repeat prescription authorizations and acute requests.
  • Addressing public health and social care needs through patient interactions.

The post holder will perform medication reviews, especially for older adults, residents in care homes, and patients with multiple co-morbidities. Support for quality improvement, clinical audits, and aspects of the Quality and Outcomes Framework will also be part of the role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Embed into multidisciplinary teams including GPs, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support the PCN clinical pharmacists with the Network DES programme.
  • Resolve medicines-related queries with clinicians and staff.
  • Monitor prescribing practices and adherence to policies.
  • Improve services through audits and quality initiatives.
  • Work with patients and carers to optimize medication use, including promoting repeat dispensing and online ordering.

Person Specification

Qualifications (Essential):

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • GCSE level education.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Skills.

Experience (Essential):

  • Providing specialised clinical advice, reviewing prescriptions, and ensuring medicines compliance.

Desirable:

  • Experience in general practice.
