Job summary

Intelligent Prescribing Solutions Ltd is a small, pharmacist-led organisation recruiting a full-time Pharmacy Technician to work in a GP practice alongside practice pharmacists.

The role focuses on medication reconciliation, repeat dispensing support, handling shortages and recalls, and contributing to CQCu audits; you will liaise with community pharmacies and secondary care to ensure safe, effective medicines management.

Qualifications

• BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical science.
• GPC registration.
• CPPE primary care pathway completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Medication reconciliation of clinical letters and hospital discharges.
• Support the repeat dispensing process.
• Medication shortages
• Medication recall processes
• In house audits re CQC/QOF/Medicines Optimisation Schemes

We are a supportive and forward thinking small organisation managed by a team of pharmacists and technicians. As a pharmacy technician, you will be a key part of our team working alongside our practice pharmacists with in a GP practice.

Main duties of the job

The right candidate must be able to communicate effectively with the pharmacy team, wider healthcare team, patients and the public, whilst ensuring and maintaining confidentiality and privacy.

As a pharmacy technician you will need to be:

• Accurate and methodical
• Team player
• Understanding of relevant local guidelines
• Have excellent communication skills
• Familiar with GP practice prescribing systems
