Job summary

The Vale Medical Practice seeks a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join its expanding multisdisciplinary team in Bedford. The role is full-time (37.5 hours) across Wootton and Shortstown sites, reporting to the senior clinical pharmacist and senior pharmacy technician.

You will support medicines optimisation, safety monitoring and repeat prescribing within a collaborative GP-led environment, both in-person with the team and across the practice network.

Qualifications

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
  • BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent.
  • Completion of the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway.
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD.

Job summary

The Vale Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacy technician to join our expanding multidisciplinary team. This role is offered on a full-time basis of 37.5 hours per week, and will be based at both our Wootton and Shortstown sites. Reporting to the senior clinical pharmacist and senior clinical pharmacy technician, you will play a key role in supporting medicines optimisation, medication safety, repeat prescribing systems and patient care within the practice multidisciplinary team. Working closely with GPs, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, GP assistants and administrative colleagues, you will help ensure the safe, effective and cost-efficient use of medicines across our patient population. This is an in-person role as you will sit with our pharmacy team, as we believe the 'learning is in the room'. Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science or recognised equivalent
  • Completion of the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD

  • Experience of repeat prescribing processes
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Experience handling medication-related queries
Desirable
  • Experience supporting QOF, IIF or medicines optimisation programmes
  • Experience undertaking prescribing audits and quality improvement projects
  • Experience working independently within a primary care medicines optimisation role
