Job summary

Intelligent Prescribing Solutions Ltd in the North East is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join a small team led by pharmacists and technicians within a GP practice. You will be a key part of our team, working alongside practice pharmacists to support safe medicines management.

Job duties include medication reconciliation, supporting repeat dispensing, handling shortages and recalls, in-house audits, and liaising with community pharmacies and secondary care to optimise patient

Qualifications

• BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in pharmaceutical science.
• Registration with the GPC.
• Completion or on-track CPPE primary care pathway.

Responsibilities

• Medication reconciliation of clinical letters and hospital discharges.
• Supporting the repeat dispensing process.
• Medication shortages management.
• Medication recall processes.
• In-house audits re CQC/QOF/Medicines Optimisation Schemes.
• Providing a link for various stakeholders including community pharmacies and secondary care.

Education

BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in pharmaceutical science

GPC registration

CPPE primary care pathway completion

We are a supportive and forward thinking small organisation managed by a team of pharmacists and technicians. As a pharmacy technician, you will be a key part of our team working alongside our practice pharmacists within a GP practice.

Main duties of the job

The right candidate must be able to communicate effectively with the pharmacy team, wider healthcare team, patients and the public, whilst ensuring and maintaining confidentiality and privacy.

As a pharmacy technician you will need to be:

• Accurate and methodical
• Team player
• Understanding of relevant local guidelines
• Have excellent communication skills
• Familiar with GP practice prescribing systems
