Dove Valley Practice is looking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician to our team. This is a new post and the successful candidate should be a hardworking, enthusiastic individual with good interpersonal skills. They should be willing to learn and be part of an effective team.
The contract is for 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
Key roles and responsibilities
- Deal with patient prescription queries, discharge letters, upgrade patient records, and update medicines.
- Call the hospital to confirm changes and discuss with the clinical pharmacist if needed.
- Set up the patient's repeat prescription and synchronize the medication.
- Manage out-of-stock medicines and find suitable alternatives.
- Switch branded medicines to generic medicines to improve cost, following BNF, NICE, GMMMG, and local guidelines before making any changes.
- Assist the practice with QOF work and primary care incentive schemes.
- Participate in IIF (Investment and Impact Fund) work in the practice.
- Monitor medicines and arrange blood tests for patients.
- Send alert messages to patients to update their BP, BMI, and other information required by the practice.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Highly motivated and willing to attend training.
- Awareness of accountability within the practice roles.
- Previous pharmaceutical experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience in General Practice/NHS settings.
- Experience with SystmOne computer system.
