Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Pharmacy Support Worker to join the HMP Leeds pharmacy team. This on-site role supports pharmacy technicians and the pharmacy manager, including second-checks and medicines management within a secure setting.

The position operates on a two-week rolling rota with a 7am to 9pm shift every fortnight. No prior experience is required, and training and development opportunities are available pending vetting and security checks.

Qualifications

• Keen interest in pharmacy and a wish to build a career in pharmacy and healthcare.
• Diligent, hard working and detail-focused.

Responsibilities

• Support onsite pharmacy technicians, pharmacy manager and wider healthcare team.
• Second-check medication before dispensing to patients on rounds.
• Carry out medication spot checks in cells.
• Contribute to medicine reconciliation, stock management and transporting medicines.
• Support a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures.
• Work in the medication hatches on the wings.
• Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
