Practice Plus Group’s Health in Justice team at HMP Lewes is recruiting a Pharmacy Assistant to support the pharmaceutical service within a category B/C prison in Sussex. Core duties include dispensing support, stock control and liaising with wing-based clinical areas, with 37.5 hours per week on a rota (0730–1730).

The role involves vigilance with security checks and working within a busy, high-need environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
• Medicines handing experience desirable not essential
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Responsabilités

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.
