Job summary

Oxleas Prison Services Ltd is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to deliver medicines management within a prison setting, under the supervision of a prison service pharmacist. You will dispense prescriptions, provide patient advice on medicines and help promote healthy lifestyles to aid rehabilitation.

Role involves stock control, dispensing responsibilities, and contributing to SOPs. Requires NHS registration and willingness to undertake National Security Vetting; includes potential progression

Qualifications

• Must have demonstrable medicines management experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Dispensing prescriptions accurately and safely within a prison environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide medicines optimisation service to the prison patients.
• Administer medicines at designated times as part of a 7 day rota.
• Undertake medicines reconciliation for new prisoners.
• Supervise dispensing assistants in the dispensary.
• Be an accredited checking technician providing final dispensing checks.
