This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and is responsible for receiving, preparing, and delivering prescriptions accurately and timely. Ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet patient needs, counseling patients with proper documentation, and creating awareness through public relations are also key responsibilities. Additionally, supervise and guide staff, with accountability for the financial and operational success of the department.

What you'll do
  1. Supervise and provide guidance and direction to staff.
  2. Responsible for hiring and managing staff performance.
  3. Accountable for the financial and operational success of the department.
  4. Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and timely.
  5. Maintain inventory levels of medication and over-the-counter supplements.
  6. Counsel patients regarding medications in a friendly, positive, and proactive manner.
  7. Create awareness and educate customers through public relations activities.
  8. Provide timely and positive resolutions to patient needs and doctor requests/issues.
  9. Review and meet budgeted sales and net contribution goals.
  10. Identify and report sales opportunities both internally and externally.
  11. Review and control costs within the pharmacy.
What you’ll need:
  1. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a valid Class A Pharmacist license.
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a retail environment.
  3. Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Effective people management skills with the ability to motivate and coach.
  5. Excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
  6. Experience in community-based marketing strategies to grow the business.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills with experience in formulating and executing action plans.
  8. Personal computing skills; knowledge of Healthwatch and/or KROLL Pharmacy systems is an asset.
