Job summary

NHSGGC Pharmacy Distribution Centre in Glasgow is seeking a motivated team member for a permanent 36-hour role. You will support the procurement, storage and distribution of medicines, working closely with a busy multidisciplinary team in a highly automated environment.

You will follow SOPs, maintain records, and ensure safe, compliant delivery of medicines across wards, theatres, community services and regional locations. In-person interviews will assess numeracy and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: 3 Standard Grades including English & Maths.
• Commitment to SVQ qualifications and ongoing training.
• Experience in supervising/training staff in a healthcare or similar setting.
• Experience with stock management and ensuring quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Supply medicines to wards, theatres, departments, community services, GP practices, prisons, police custody suites, Highland and Island locations and patients' homes.
• Utilise computer systems and specialised equipment to support service delivery.
• Respond promptly to medicine requests and receive/ process stock.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to stock control.
• Ensure GDP, FMD compliance and adherence to legislative requirements.

Education

3 Standard Grades incl. English & Maths

Willingness to progress SVQ qualifications

Basic IT skills

Experience in staff training

Experience of supervising staff

Experience in healthcare or similar environment

Experience of stock management processes

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work under supervision
