Job summary

Skills 4 Pharmacy is recruiting a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to support daily pharmacy operations and help customers under supervision.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship with full training and ongoing support provided to grow your skills in a busy community pharmacy.

No prior pharmacy experience is required; full training is provided, and you will learn stock control, prescriptions processing, customer service and health & safety standards.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship alongside the role is provided.
• GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English are desirable but not essential as part of the course.

Responsibilities

• Support customers at the medicines counter and respond to queries.
• Assist with the preparation and supply of prescriptions under supervision.
• Handle stock, deliveries and maintain accurate records.
• Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality.

Job description

As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day-to-day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

Key duties include:

• Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries
• Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)
• Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records
• Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality
• Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service

No previous pharmacy experience is required full training is provided.

Apprenticeship details:

Qualification: Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship, GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.
