Job summary

Skills 4 Pharmacy in the United Kingdom is offering a Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship. As an apprentice you will support daily pharmacy operations, help customers at the counter and learn under supervision.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship with full training and support. The role is full-time, shift-based and designed to earn while you learn, with a nationally recognised qualification upon completion.

Qualifications

• No previous pharmacy experience required; full training provided.
• GCSEs in Maths and English (desirable) but not essential as can be provided via the course.
• Strong communication and organisational skills are important.

Job description

As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day-to-day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

Key duties include:

• Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries
• Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)
• Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records
• Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality
• Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service
• A genuine interest in healthcare and working with people
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Basic IT skills
• No previous pharmacy experience is required full training is provided.

Apprenticeship details:

Qualification: Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship, GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.
