Job summary

I & F Limited (T/A Skills4Group) in Devon is recruiting a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to support daily pharmacy operations and customer service. You will work towards a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship while gaining hands-on experience in a busy community pharmacy.

The role begins with full training, no prior pharmacy experience required, and a 15-month fixed-term contract. Blended learning and support are provided throughout the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C (4-9) in Maths and English preferred, or equivalent; training provided if needed.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are required.
• Basic IT skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support customers at the medicines counter and respond to queries.
• Assist with preparation and supply of prescriptions under supervision.
• Handle stock, deliveries and maintain accurate records.
• Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality.

Working Week: 42.5hours per week (Monday-Friday 0830-1800 60 mins unpaid lunchbreak) plus every other Saturday morning 0900-1200 (these 3 hours would be given back in the week). 15-month fixed term contract

Brief Description

PL1 3BW We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course. For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Training to be Provided

Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Future Prospects

This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.
