Job summary

Skills 4 Pharmacy is offering a Pharmacy Assistant Apprenticeship in Colchester. You will support daily pharmacy operations and customers while completing a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship with full training and support.

Your role covers helping with prescriptions, stock control, and using pharmacy systems, with a focus on safety, confidentiality and high service standards. No prior pharmacy experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Support customers at the medicines counter and respond to queries.

• Help maintain cleanliness, safety and confidentiality in the pharmacy.
• Work as part of a team to ensure excellent service Mon-Fri 8:00–18:30 (may include Saturday mornings).

Job description

As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day-to-day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

Key duties include:

• Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries
• Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)
• Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records
• Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality
• Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service, Mon-Fri 8am-6.30pm (may include some Saturday mornings) GCSES preferred, reasonable commuting distance

Apprenticeship details:

Qualification: Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship, GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
