Job summary

Skills 4 Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to support the day-to-day running of the pharmacy and assist customers while working closely with the team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided. The apprenticeship details include 30 hours per week and a pathway to a nationally recognised qualification.

Qualifications

• No prior pharmacy experience required; full training provided.
• Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship taken alongside duties.
• GCSEs in Maths and English desired but not essential as part of the course.
• Must commit to contracted hours and guided learning hours.

Responsibilities

• Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries
• Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)
• Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records
• Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality
• Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service
• A genuine interest in healthcare and working with people
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Basic IT skills

Job description

Apprenticeship details:

Qualification: Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship, GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Duration: Typically 15 months

Training delivered alongside your job through blended learning

Apprentices must be able to commit to contracted working hours and guided learning hours
