Job summary

Skills4Group is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice in Derby to support day‑to‑day pharmacy operations and customer service. You will work with the pharmacy team to ensure safe, efficient service while training towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You will engage with customers, assist with prescriptions under supervision, manage stock, and learn pharmacy systems. Full training is provided with no prior pharmacy experience required.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English desirable but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
• For applicants without Maths and English Level 2, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.
• No previous pharmacy experience required; full training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the medicines counter and respond to queries.
• Assist with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision).
• Handle stock, deliveries and maintain accurate records.
• Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality.
• Work as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service.
