The hourly rate for this role is £12.69 and up to £14.05 across selected locations within London.

Exceptional patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do. As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you’ll help patients feel good through clear advice, care, and a wide range of dispensing services.

You will work across the healthcare counter and dispensary, focusing on patient needs. This role offers a great opportunity to develop your pharmacy career and make a difference.

Day-to-day responsibilities

Providing health advice through focused conversations, delivering accurate answers, and ensuring safe medication supply.

Your duties will include:
  • Tailoring conversations to ensure customers leave informed and confident about their healthcare needs.
  • Handling technical dispensary tasks such as ordering, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  • Complying with legal and professional standards in Boots.
  • Engaging with GPs and practice teams to promote services and products.
  • Ensuring efficient dispensary operations and minimizing losses.
Qualifications and experience

Applicants should have an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services and previous experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser. Completion of a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent is required, with support provided for training if not already completed.

Opportunities for professional development include achieving NVQ Level 3 (QCF) in Pharmacy Services to register with GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician, potentially leading to an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) role. Compensation and benefits will reflect your qualifications and roles.
