Role and Compensation

The hourly rate for this role is £12.69 and up to £14.05 across selected locations within London.

Exceptional patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do. As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you’ll help patients feel good by providing clear advice and a wide range of dispensing services. You will work across the healthcare counter and dispensary to meet patients' needs, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your pharmacy career and make a difference in patients' lives.

Daily responsibilities

Providing health advice through focused conversations with patients and delivering accurate answers.

Your duties will include:
  1. Tailoring conversations to ensure customers leave informed and confident about their healthcare needs.
  2. Handling technical dispensary tasks such as ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions, ensuring the safe supply of medicines.
  3. Complying with legal and professional standards in pharmacy practice.
  4. Engaging with GPs and practice teams to promote services and products.
  5. Ensuring efficient dispensary operations and minimizing dispensing losses.
Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have an NVQ Level 2 equivalent in Pharmacy Services and previous experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser. Completion of a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent is required, with support available to complete training within six months if not already qualified. Opportunities exist for further professional development towards NVQ Level 3 and registration with the GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician, potentially leading to an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician role.
