The importance of your role.

Exceptional patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do. As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you'll help patients feel good by providing clear advice and a wide range of dispensing services. You will work across the healthcare counter and dispensary to meet patients' needs, offering a great opportunity to develop your pharmacy career and make a difference in patients' lives.

What you’ll be doing day to day.

Providing health advice through focused conversations with patients, ensuring they leave feeling informed and confident about their healthcare needs.

Your duties will include:

  1. Tailoring conversations with each customer to ensure they feel informed and confident about their healthcare.
  2. Handling technical dispensary tasks such as ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions, while ensuring the safe supply of medicines.
  3. Complying with legal and professional requirements and guidelines in Boots.
  4. Engaging with GPs and practice teams to promote services and products.
  5. Ensuring efficient dispensary operations and minimizing dispensing losses.

What you’ll need to have.

We offer an exciting career opportunity. You should have an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services and previous experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser. Completion of a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent is required; if not already completed, we will support your training within 6 months.

If interested in advancing your career, we support achieving NVQ Level 3 (QCF) in Pharmacy Services to register with GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician, potentially leading to an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) role. Your pay and benefits will reflect your professional development.

This is one of several career routes within Boots.

Our Diversity and Inclusion commitment.

We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. As an equal opportunity employer, we embrace diversity and provide a positive, inclusive environment. Flexible working options are available to support work-life balance.
