Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a registered Pharmacist to lead medicines optimisation and ensure safe, effective use of medicines across the patient journey at Tees Valley Hospital. You will manage pharmacy services, oversee procurement, stock management and dispensing, and support audits and safety initiatives.

As a member of the hospital leadership team, you will drive service development, mentor colleagues, promote education, and champion high-quality patient care and governance across the clinical

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacist with GPhC experience and leadership in pharmacy services or staff
• Strong understanding of medicines governance and safety
• Ability to build relationships with healthcare professionals
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Desirable: Independent Prescriber qualification
• Experience as Pharmacy Manager deputy and in service development/quality improvement

Responsibilities

• Support medicines optimisation across the patient journey
• Collaborate with consultants, nursing teams and pharmacy colleagues
• Lead pharmacy services and medicines management for Tees Valley Hospital
• Oversee procurement, stock management, and dispensing
• Support audits, medication incidents investigations and safety alerts
• Develop colleagues and promote medicines-related education
• Drive service development and adoption of new therapies
• Contribute to clinical governance and patient care outcomes
